BOOKING YOUR HONEYMOON DURING COVID-19

BOOKING YOUR HONEYMOON DURING COVID-19

You have spent months dreaming and planning your wedding down to every last detail. You cannot wait to finally put on the dress you’ve thoughtfully picked out. You are excited to be standing next to the love of your life vowing to spend forever together. There is just one last detail you want to figure out…your honeymoon. The problem is you’ve done some research online and it’s overwhelming, especially in the midst of planning an entire wedding. You don’t know where to begin. That is where 417 Travel comes in to help plan the honeymoon of your dreams. Our agents have been to our top destinations and resorts, so they are experts in helping you find the best vacation to fit your needs.

Here at 417 we understand how overwhelming planning your dream vacation is, especially during Covid. The CDC guidelines can be a lot to sort through- that’s why I went to Mexico to answer all of your questions with firsthand knowledge! I would be lying if I said I was not a little nervous, but after going through the whole process I can honestly say it was easy. I am going to break down my experience for you here so we can spend more time talking about the fun stuff when you are ready to book!

When I got to my resort and checked in, I asked the concierge to schedule my Covid test. They asked me when I was leaving the resort to make sure the test was scheduled on the appropriate day, and then gave me a few times to pick from. These tests are scheduled with a hospital so you must pick a time they provide. When the day came to take my test, I was shown to the Covid testing area. In my case the resort I was staying at, Dreams Tulum, used their wedding showroom as a testing site, but every resort will be different. The point here is that there will be a designated testing site on property. While waiting to get my test I had to fill out a form to have the doctor sign for the airport. On this form you must write down your passport number. Do not do what I did and leave your passport in your room. Bring it with you or have a picture of it on your phone. After the paperwork was filled out, I went into the testing room where it was only the doctor and me. The doctor was wearing a mask, face shield and gloves. He walked me through the entire process of what he was going to do and asked if I had any questions before he started the test. The actual test was a q-tip, a little bit longer than a normal one, that was swabbed for 5 seconds in one nostril. Then I was done and, on my way, to enjoy the rest of my trip. My results were ready for me the next morning at the front desk. They will also email you a copy, but you must have a physical copy for the airport so you might as well pick it up at the front desk.

If confusion over testing is the only thing holding you back from your dream vacation, rest assured it is incredibly quick and easy! You can still have the honeymoon of your dreams, even during COVID. Let the experts at 417 Travel help!

About the Author:

My name is Courtney Tapken. I’m a wife and a dog mom to a snuggly 75-pound Great Dane / Hound rescue. I was born and raised here in Springfield. I recently got married in October of 2020 in Springfield. Before that my husband and I took a three-month trip and traveled the southwest in our van that he converted into a camper. I love an all-inclusive resort with a great beach. I also love visiting cities all across the world to learn about different cultures. I think my favorite part of traveling is getting to try authentic food in native places. My favorite trips to take are romantic, relaxing getaways with my husband and fun, upbeat girls trips. Although I’m new to the travel agent scene, travel has always been something I’ve been passionate about and planning every detail of your trip is right in my wheelhouse.
