Metropolitan Weddings

After your ceremony has commenced and you’ve officially become bride and groom, the celebratory meal at your reception is greatly looked forward to, not only by you and your new spouse, but by friends and family members who have traveled to join you in support of the start of a new chapter in life. For those tying the knot in Southwest Missouri, there are a number of catering options throughout the area who are experienced in exceptional service and outstanding food for the masses on your wedding day.

For 61 years, Cloud’s Meats has been crafting classic BBQ favorites in generous portions. The passion behind each and every catered meal started with the heart of the company, the owner’s wife. She found herself smoking meats for customized events and throughout the 1980’s, Cloud’s Meats catering emerged. Through this natural progression of recognizing the need for catering large gatherings, Cloud’s Meats became a fully in-house meat processing, retail and catering company servicing the southwest region of Missouri.

Cloud’s Meats spearheaded the BBQ catering niche that thrives competitively today. Back 61 years ago and again in 2020, Cloud’s Meats distinguished themselves in having the ability to truly take their service from, “hoof to plate.” Not only are their specialized meats offered for large gatherings and events, but also in their retail stores, allowing anyone curious as to just how good their brisket is, people can try it themselves before booking their next event’s meal.

Syerra Conklin, Cloud’s Meats Catering Coordinator, enjoys the atmosphere associated with feeding large groups of family and friends as they celebrate milestones together such as a couple’s wedding reception or rehearsal dinner. Her advice to brides and grooms planning their wedding’s meal is to truly choose what they love to eat as it is a celebration of them on their day. Syerra’s own comfort food? Loaded mashed potatoes – a favorite of many wedding guests as well. While it is at times easy to plan according to what a couple thinks their guests may prefer, food is a representation of what brings two families together and should be chosen by the two individuals making that commitment to each other. Eating what comforts a bride and groom most on their day will be treasured by family and friends happy to be joining them.

Besides, Cloud’s Meats does all of the maintenance on a wedding day as far as set-up, buffet serving, cleaning-up, and of course organizing the leftovers. After a full day and evening of celebrating the happy couple, BBQed leftovers are looked forward to the next day just as much!
